Smart Ads is looking to fill 5 unpaid internship positions based in Uganda. The internships are tailored for students who want to explore a career in the humanitarian, relief and international development sector.
Objectives of the Internships
- To enhance the knowledge and enrich the educational experience of students who want to explore a career in the humanitarian, relief and development sector by providing them with practical immersive field work experience in Africa
- To create competent and dynamic professionals that will contribute to the advancement of sustainable international development.
- To train and expose students to the systems and processes of humanitarian, relief and development work and to enable them understand how stakeholders interact within the international development arena.
- To provide community development organizations with the much needed human resources from students with diverse cultural and academic backgrounds
- Provide students with a firsthand look at what their governments’ foreign aid and development assistance does in developing countries.
- To create a platform for students to demonstrate their generosity by supporting different causes in developing countries.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following criteria
- Have interest in the humanitarian, relief and international development sector.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Be proficient in English.
- Have excellent academic performance.
Students can apply for funding through The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, a grant program that enables them to study or intern abroad.
